5 Reasons Why Most People Don't Play Basketball

Consistency is a trait that most people don't have. Many people have dream's of becoming a professional athlete someday. Majority of those very same people are not willing to do what it takes to improve as an athlete. Doing what it takes for a few days at a time won't cut it. That type of effort makes a lot of people fall victim of not becoming the player that they dream of being. Repetition is what trains our body to do things a certain way. Sports are no different. Consistently working on your game is important!

2. Most Don't Work Hard...

Are you working as hard you possibly can? This could be what's holding you back and standing in your way to success. Maybe you have a lot of natural talent but you still can't perform at the level you would like to. I will make a safe bet that you're taking your natural ability for granted. You probably don't practice unless someone asks you to or there are other's around. You don't have motivation to go workout at all cost. Until you work hard at the task at hand you will fall short. That will be a hindrance to you performing at the level that you would like. You must keep in mind while you are relaxing there are others that are putting in blood, sweat, and tears to get better. The early bird gets the worm!

3. Most Don't Set Goals...

In order to accomplish anything there are things that you should do to prepare. Seeing the end in the beginning is one of those things. It's always good to visualize yourself accomplishing your goal. It will help you to do what it takes to make that vision a reality. It's pointless going into something not knowing what you would like to get out of your efforts. If you want to learn how to play basketball your goal should be to work hard on your game everyday. If you accomplish your goal of working hard everyday more than likely you will learn how to play basketball. When setting goals you should aim for the stars. If you fail you'll land in the sky.

4. Most Don't Possess Mental Toughness...

If you are not mentally tough you won't become better at basketball. Basketball is a very shaky business. No one plays good every time out. So that can result in giving up. To overcome that a positive mindset is needed. You must be able to block out your failure and push forward. Anytime you make a mistake or error just tell yourself that you will get it right next time. That type of thinking will work wonders for performing more consistently.

5. Most Don't Surround Themselves With The Right People...

The type of people that you hang around when working out could effect you. If you hang around people that don't take basketball as serious as you might rub of on you. If I want to become a professional athlete I'm going to hang around professional athlete's. You should surround yourself with people that have accomplished what you want to accomplish. That's an easy way to get valuable advice and tips to help you. So if you're interested in playing basketball surround yourself with those who play.
